Paul has already told us the kind of men who are elders. He has been coaching Timothy on their tasks. But how are they protected from hollow or unholy accusations? How are we as the church to care for and respect them? In our age of cynicism and abuse of power, the words of Paul on leadership do not have to be made relevant. They just need to be taught.
